About the Harmar Rubber Threshold Ramp
A single step at the front door or a raised threshold between rooms can stop a wheelchair or scooter cold. The Harmar Rubber Threshold Ramp is made for those spots, and Harmar describes it as a way to help you and your mobility device enter and exit your home or difficult to access rooms within your house.
Made of durable, non-slip rubber, it has a weight capacity of 850 lbs, enough that Harmar calls heavy powerchairs and larger scooters no match for it. It works indoors or outdoors, whether the job is a curb or the single step into your home.
Sizing is modular: half-inch sections add onto 1-inch base sections, and the ramp handles thresholds up to 4 inches high. Heights run from 1 inch (12 by 39 inches) to 4 inches (48 by 46 inches), and the usable ramp width is 36 inches. Beveled sides cut down the trip hazard and let you get on or off from the side.
Setup needs no tools or hardware: lay out the pieces and fit the puzzle-like edges together. Harmar assembles it in the USA.
Custom Mobility ships it across the lower 48. Pick the section that matches the rise you need to cover, or call us if you are not sure which one fits your doorway.

Common questions
How long does a ramp take?
A modular ramp is typically installed in a day. Permanent construction takes longer and may need a permit.
Will a ramp fit my entrance?
ADA guidance is twelve inches of run per inch of rise. Where there is not room, a platform lift usually is the answer.
What slope does a ramp actually need?
Roughly twelve inches of run for every inch of rise, plus level landings at the top, the bottom, and every turn. A four-foot rise wants close to fifty feet of ramp, which is when a platform lift takes less room.
Modular or poured concrete?
Modular installs fast and comes back out. Poured concrete is permanent and can be finished to match the house. The right answer depends mostly on how long you need it.
Is a permit needed?
Sometimes, particularly for permanent ramps and for commercial work. We handle it, and we will tell you at the quote if one applies.
Do you fit automatic door openers?
Yes, residential and commercial. Where a door is too heavy to manage with a walker, a cane, or full hands, a powered operator often solves more than a ramp does.
Do you service what you sell?
Yes, with our own technicians. The person who comes back is from the same company as the person who installed it.
