About the Metal Grab Bar
A Vive Metal Grab Bar adds stability in the bathroom, shower or tub, and it supports up to 440 pounds. Vive calls it a sturdy metal grab bar, not just a stabilizer.
You can mount it horizontally, vertically or diagonally, and installed diagonally in most bathtubs it gives extra help getting out of the tub. It is not limited to the bathroom either: it can go on a wall wherever you need extra support.
The included mounting hardware works on fiberglass, acrylic, drywall and plaster walls; ceramic tile needs additional hardware. Vive recommends fastening into a stud where you can, and the set includes wall anchors for when that is not possible. Decorative flanges lock in place over the mounting hardware for a clean look.
The stainless steel resists rust and corrosion for use in the tub or shower. Choose a 12, 16 or 24 inch bar in brushed nickel, bronze, white or black.

Yes. The bar is the easy part; finding something solid behind the tile is the work. A bar fixed into plaster holds until the moment somebody needs it.
