About the Harmar AL425 2-axis Hoist Lift
Harmar describes the AL425 as sleek, slim and secure: a hoist lift with power lift and power rotation that mounts in the cargo area of your vehicle. It lifts manual wheelchairs, powerchairs and scooters weighing up to 400 lb.
With the lift in the cargo area, you keep the use of your vehicle's backup camera. It can be installed on either the passenger or driver side, and an offset post allows safe unloading at the side of the vehicle. The remote control is weather-resistant, with an optional wireless key fob.
Plan on 30 inches of headroom, which Harmar lists as required. Arm height adjusts from 30 to 41 inches and length from 23.5 to 33.5 inches, and the installed weight is 66 lb. The AL425 is compatible with vans, SUVs and trucks, and a universal base adapter is included; the docking device is not. Options include a battery pack, custom adapters, a custom docking device, a folding arm and a wireless remote.
Because Harmar lists a headroom requirement, we confirm the fit for your vehicle and device. Custom Mobility's own technicians install the AL425 in Georgia, and we service it here in Georgia.

How The Work Happens
Five steps. You can stop at any of them, and nothing is charged until you have said yes to a written scope.
You tell us what is difficult
Not what product you think you need. The stairs, the front step, the bath, getting into the car. Working out the product is our job.
A call, not a sales pitchWe come out and measure
On site, at your address, free. We check the space, the power, and the structure, and we talk through how the room actually gets used.
Free, and no obligationYou get it in writing
An itemized scope and a price, with the lead time stated honestly. The price you agree to is the price of the job. Take as long as you like with it.
The price does not moveOur technicians install it
Our own people, not a subcontractor, who stay until everyone who has to operate it can operate it confidently.
Our own crewsWe service it afterward
The company that installed it is the company that maintains it. You are not handed to somebody else once the invoice clears.

Common questions
Will this work with my vehicle?
That depends on the vehicle and the equipment. We check compatibility before you order anything, which is exactly the step that goes wrong when it is skipped.
Will it fit in my car?
Ask this at the start rather than after delivery. Folding and travel models go in a trunk. A full-size chair needs a vehicle lift or a conversion, and we do those too.
Do I have to buy a van?
Usually not, and most people assume they do. Hand controls, a lift, or a turning seat solve a great many situations for a fraction of a conversion. Ask before you go vehicle shopping.
Will this affect my vehicle warranty?
Properly fitted equipment from established manufacturers does not generally affect it, though we would not ask you to take our word over your dealer's. We will tell you exactly what we are fitting and how.
Do you service what you sell?
Yes, with our own technicians. The person who comes back is from the same company as the person who installed it.
Will you service equipment somebody else installed?
Often, depending on the platform and whether we hold the relationship with that manufacturer. Tell us what you have.
