About the Harmar AL215 Single Axis Hoist Lift

For a lighter mobility device, Harmar offers the AL215 Low Profile Hoist Lift, which it calls a light duty, economical yet effective solution. It lifts manual wheelchairs, scooters and power wheelchairs weighing up to 250 lb.

Lifting is powered, while rotation is manual with a mechanical stop. Base and arm height are extremely adjustable, the boom strap adjusts too, and the hand control is weather-resistant. Arm height runs from 26 to 34 inches and arm length from 21 to 32 inches. An integrated, offset post lets the device be delivered to the side of the vehicle.

Standard installation is on the passenger side; a driver side installation needs the DS01 option. Harmar lists it as compatible with a variety of minivans, SUVs, vans and trucks, and you keep the use of your backup camera. The installed weight is 42 lb, a universal base adapter is included, and the docking device is not.

We confirm the fit for your vehicle and device. The lift is installed in Georgia by Custom Mobility's own technicians, and we provide service in Georgia.

How The Work Happens

Five steps. You can stop at any of them, and nothing is charged until you have said yes to a written scope.

  1. You tell us what is difficult

Not what product you think you need. The stairs, the front step, the bath, getting into the car. Working out the product is our job.

A call, not a sales pitch
  2. We come out and measure

On site, at your address, free. We check the space, the power, and the structure, and we talk through how the room actually gets used.

    Free, and no obligation
  3. You get it in writing

An itemized scope and a price, with the lead time stated honestly. The price you agree to is the price of the job. Take as long as you like with it.

    The price does not move
  4. Our technicians install it

Our own people, not a subcontractor, who stay until everyone who has to operate it can operate it confidently.

    Our own crews
  5. We service it afterward

The company that installed it is the company that maintains it. You are not handed to somebody else once the invoice clears.

    Same company, years later

Common questions

Will this work with my vehicle?

That depends on the vehicle and the equipment. We check compatibility before you order anything, which is exactly the step that goes wrong when it is skipped.

Will it fit in my car?

Ask this at the start rather than after delivery. Folding and travel models go in a trunk. A full-size chair needs a vehicle lift or a conversion, and we do those too.

Do I have to buy a van?

Usually not, and most people assume they do. Hand controls, a lift, or a turning seat solve a great many situations for a fraction of a conversion. Ask before you go vehicle shopping.

Will this affect my vehicle warranty?

Properly fitted equipment from established manufacturers does not generally affect it, though we would not ask you to take our word over your dealer's. We will tell you exactly what we are fitting and how.

Do you service what you sell?

Yes, with our own technicians. The person who comes back is from the same company as the person who installed it.

Will you service equipment somebody else installed?

Often, depending on the platform and whether we hold the relationship with that manufacturer. Tell us what you have.
