About the Harmar AL100-DE Dual Entry Scooter Lift

A guide rail keeps a scooter's third wheel centered as it rolls on and off, and it positions a four-wheel scooter in the same spot each time for consistent loading. An automatic hold-down foot secures the scooter hands-free, and wheel chocks are part of the securement. No scooter modifications are required.

Lifting and folding are both fully powered. The platform measures 28.6 by 56.7 inches, the installed weight is 83 lb, and it mounts on a Class II or greater hitch. Harmar lists it as compatible with a variety of SUVs, trucks, vans and minivans, and a license plate mount is included. Options include a battery pack, license plate riser, retractable strap kit, scooter cover and swing-away.

Will this work with my vehicle?

That depends on the vehicle and the equipment. We check compatibility before you order anything, which is exactly the step that goes wrong when it is skipped.

Will it fit in my car?

Ask this at the start rather than after delivery. Folding and travel models go in a trunk. A full-size chair needs a vehicle lift or a conversion, and we do those too.

Do I have to buy a van?

Usually not, and most people assume they do. Hand controls, a lift, or a turning seat solve a great many situations for a fraction of a conversion. Ask before you go vehicle shopping.

Will this affect my vehicle warranty?

Properly fitted equipment from established manufacturers does not generally affect it, though we would not ask you to take our word over your dealer's. We will tell you exactly what we are fitting and how.
