The Harmar AL055 Economy Inside Hoist Lift is a small trunk-mount hoist for a manual wheelchair, a travel or micro scooter, or a powerchair. Its lifting capacity is 200 lb.

You hook the device to the hoist and help guide it into the trunk while the lift raises it; rotation is by hand. Harmar describes it as lightweight and compact, with a heaviest component of 23 lb, and it is easy to take apart for storage. The adjustable length runs from 23 to 34 inches, and the installed weight is 40 lb.

Because a hoist lift sits inside the vehicle, you keep the use of your backup camera. Harmar lists it as compatible with a variety of sedans, minivans, SUVs, trucks and vans. Will this work with my vehicle?

That depends on the vehicle and the equipment. We check compatibility before you order anything, which is exactly the step that goes wrong when it is skipped.

Will it fit in my car?

Ask this at the start rather than after delivery. Folding and travel models go in a trunk. A full-size chair needs a vehicle lift or a conversion, and we do those too.

Do I have to buy a van?

Usually not, and most people assume they do. Hand controls, a lift, or a turning seat solve a great many situations for a fraction of a conversion. Ask before you go vehicle shopping.

Will this affect my vehicle warranty?

Properly fitted equipment from established manufacturers does not generally affect it, though we would not ask you to take our word over your dealer's. We will tell you exactly what we are fitting and how.
