About the Carbon Cruiser
The Rascal Carbon Cruiser is a folding electric wheelchair from Mega Motion that weighs only 42 lbs. without the battery and folds nearly flat in just seconds. Rascal says that at a folded depth of about 12" it can be picked up and placed into most vehicle trunks. When it is time to move again, it unfolds in a snap.
The frame is carbon fiber, and full suspension smooths the ride. The quick-disconnect joystick, with a USB charger, power button, battery meter, speed adjustment and horn, attaches to either armrest. Dual flip-up armrests make it easier to get in and out, and the brakes can be disengaged so a caregiver can push the chair like a manual wheelchair. A cup holder, two storage pouches and under-seat storage carry the small things.
Power comes from a removable 24V, 12Ah lithium battery that weighs 4 lbs., which Rascal describes as airline compliant and able to be stowed in a carry-on bag. Rascal also notes that air transport is subject to federal regulations and airline policy, so check with your airline before you fly. The chair carries up to 300 lbs., reaches 3.7 mph and travels up to 9.3 miles on a charge. Rascal's product page describes it for indoor use and flat paths near buildings, not grass, gravel roads, large slopes, rain or snow. Custom Mobility ships the Carbon Cruiser across the lower 48.

Common questions
Can I try equipment before buying?
Yes. Come to the showroom in Athens or ask for an in-home evaluation.
Will it fit in my car?
Ask this at the start rather than after delivery. Folding and travel models go in a trunk. A full-size chair needs a vehicle lift or a conversion, and we do those too.
Do you ship outside Georgia?
Yes. Products ship across the lower 48. Installation and service are Georgia.
Do you service what you sell?
Yes, with our own technicians. The person who comes back is from the same company as the person who installed it.
Will you service equipment somebody else installed?
Often, depending on the platform and whether we hold the relationship with that manufacturer. Tell us what you have.
Can I just come to the showroom?
Walk-ins are welcome in Athens, at 315 Whitehead Road. Appointments are better, because it means the right person is there when you arrive.
