About the Shower Stretcher Fixed
Designed for bathing in a lying position, the Smirthwaite Shower Stretcher Fixed is a wall-mounted shower stretcher and changing bench at a fixed height. Smirthwaite calls it its entry-level stretcher, built to be durable yet slimline.
It can be mounted directly above a bathtub, which suits residential homes and smaller bathrooms. No floor attachments are needed, and it folds away to a stored width of 9.4 in when bath time is over.
The product codes we carry come with side guard rails. Choose it with or without the integrated vinyl headrest, which uses a paddle-lift mechanism that locks into your preferred angle. Six lengths run from 55.1 in to 74.8 in, all with a maximum user weight of 441 lb. It is designed for indoor use. If it goes on drywall or a stud wall, an additional backing board must be purchased.
Custom Mobility ships it across the lower 48. Send us the measurements of your bathroom and we will help you choose a length.

Common questions
Can I try equipment before buying?
Yes. Come to the showroom in Athens or ask for an in-home evaluation.
Will it fit in my car?
Ask this at the start rather than after delivery. Folding and travel models go in a trunk. A full-size chair needs a vehicle lift or a conversion, and we do those too.
Do you ship outside Georgia?
Yes. Products ship across the lower 48. Installation and service are Georgia.
Do you service what you sell?
Yes, with our own technicians. The person who comes back is from the same company as the person who installed it.
Will you service equipment somebody else installed?
Often, depending on the platform and whether we hold the relationship with that manufacturer. Tell us what you have.
Can I just come to the showroom?
Walk-ins are welcome in Athens, at 315 Whitehead Road. Appointments are better, because it means the right person is there when you arrive.
