Some children need to lie back as well as sit up. For them, Proactive Medical makes a pediatric version of its Chariot IV XTC-RC with a hydraulic recline from 90 to 180 degrees.
Pick a 12 or 14 in seat; each has a matching depth and a 250 lb capacity. The chair weighs 41 lbs, has a 26 in back with a removable headrest above it, and sits at a seat-to-floor height of 15.75 in.
For the caregiver there is a spreader bar that works as a push handle and back stabilizer. Rolling gear is 20 in composite rear wheels with urethane tires, 6 in front rubber tires and sealed bearings. Elevating leg rests, flip-back arms and flip-up anti-tippers come with it. Limited lifetime warranty.
