About the Heavy Duty Wheelchair
Strength without a heavy chair is the point of the Vive Heavy Duty Wheelchair: its reinforced steel frame supports up to 400 pounds, yet the chair weighs just 45 pounds. It folds quickly for storage in closets and car trunks, whether for travel, a hospital discharge or everyday use at home.
The extra-wide 20-inch seat gives room to sit comfortably for hours. Padded armrests and fire-resistant nylon upholstery that wipes clean are part of the package. The footrests adjust to your height and swing away for easier transfers in and out.
At 27 inches wide, Vive says it fits through standard 30-inch doorways. Hand brakes give control on slopes and inclines, and the easy-push four-wheel design handles indoor hallways and outdoor sidewalks.
It arrives mostly assembled; the footrests and armrests may need minor adjustments to suit you. Choose black or blue. Custom Mobility ships it across the lower 48. Call us and we will help you check it suits your home.

Can I try equipment before buying?
Yes. Come to the showroom in Athens or ask for an in-home evaluation.
Will it fit in my car?
Ask this at the start rather than after delivery. Folding and travel models go in a trunk. A full-size chair needs a vehicle lift or a conversion, and we do those too.
Do you ship outside Georgia?
Yes. Products ship across the lower 48. Installation and service are Georgia.
Do you service what you sell?
Yes, with our own technicians. The person who comes back is from the same company as the person who installed it.
Will you service equipment somebody else installed?
Often, depending on the platform and whether we hold the relationship with that manufacturer. Tell us what you have.
Can I just come to the showroom?
Walk-ins are welcome in Athens, at 315 Whitehead Road. Appointments are better, because it means the right person is there when you arrive.
