About the Open Sesame Commercial Automatic Door Opener

Activate it by push pad or remote control and the opener goes through its open-pause-close cycle. When someone opens the door by hand instead, the Model 233 power closes it as if it were operated by a spring or pneumatic closer, and it can be used in any application where the unit replaces a door closer.

A variable clutch lets the closing speed be adjusted depending on need and wind conditions. The hold-open period is adjustable from 5 to 30 seconds, opening angles reach 120 degrees, and an optional No-Park setting keeps a started cycle from being interrupted. With a rain shield, it can also be used on gates.

An internal battery power supply provides powered operation if external power fails, and the low voltage 24 volt wiring kit means no electrician is needed for the electrical side. For activation, Open Sesame offers large or narrow wireless wall pushpads, 36” high wireless wall switches and a wireless keyless entry pad for secure doors.

Common questions

How long does a ramp take?

A modular ramp is typically installed in a day. Permanent construction takes longer and may need a permit.

Will a ramp fit my entrance?

ADA guidance is twelve inches of run per inch of rise. Where there is not room, a platform lift usually is the answer.

What slope does a ramp actually need?

Roughly twelve inches of run for every inch of rise, plus level landings at the top, the bottom, and every turn. A four-foot rise wants close to fifty feet of ramp, which is when a platform lift takes less room.

Modular or poured concrete?

Modular installs fast and comes back out. Poured concrete is permanent and can be finished to match the house. The right answer depends mostly on how long you need it.

Is a permit needed?

Sometimes, particularly for permanent ramps and for commercial work. We handle it, and we will tell you at the quote if one applies.

Do you fit automatic door openers?

Yes, residential and commercial. Where a door is too heavy to manage with a walker, a cane, or full hands, a powered operator often solves more than a ramp does.
