The Harmar AL580XL extra large profile MWD power wheelchair lift is the roomier version of Harmar's AL580: where the AL580 suits mid-wheel drive powerchairs with 10-inch drive wheels, the AL580XL offers more room for mid-wheel powerchairs with 14-inch drive wheels. Lifting capacity is 350 lbs.

About the Harmar AL580XL Extra Large Profile MWD Power Wheelchair Lift

Securement is automatic. A padded hold-down bar secures the power wheelchair, so no straps or tie-downs are required and no power wheelchair modifications are needed. When the lift is unoccupied, it folds automatically.

Harmar describes the AL580 series as compact and durable. The AL580XL platform measures 17.5 by 27 inches, the installed weight is 63 lb, and it mounts to a Class II or greater hitch. The AL107 hitch post, the AL123 class III hitch adapter and a license plate mount are included. It is compatible with minivans, SUVs, trucks and vans, and the options list covers a battery pack, a cover, a license plate riser and a swing-away.

Will this work with my vehicle?

That depends on the vehicle and the equipment. We check compatibility before you order anything, which is exactly the step that goes wrong when it is skipped.

Will it fit in my car?

Ask this at the start rather than after delivery. Folding and travel models go in a trunk. A full-size chair needs a vehicle lift or a conversion, and we do those too.

Do I have to buy a van?

Usually not, and most people assume they do. Hand controls, a lift, or a turning seat solve a great many situations for a fraction of a conversion. Ask before you go vehicle shopping.

Will this affect my vehicle warranty?

Properly fitted equipment from established manufacturers does not generally affect it, though we would not ask you to take our word over your dealer's. We will tell you exactly what we are fitting and how.
