ComfyGO Z-4 Mobility Scooter

The ComfyGO Z-4 mobility scooter is built around a quick-detach frame: take it apart and the heaviest piece weighs just 30 lbs. ComfyGO says it comes apart or goes back together in under 30 seconds, and the compact design is meant to fit even smaller trunks.

Once it is rolling, a 250W bridge motor does the work and intelligent electromagnetic brakes built into the motor handle stopping. Top speed is 5 mph, and ComfyGO rates the Z-4 for a maximum weight of 350 lbs. The controls are designed for comfortable use with either the left or right hand, and front upper and lower dual headlights add visibility.

Choose the battery that suits your outings. The 12AH lithium-ion battery delivers up to 13 miles, while the 30AH battery offers an extended range of up to 30 miles. Both can be charged while installed in the scooter or independently, from a regular home outlet, in 6 to 8 hours. ComfyGO points out that driving habits, temperature, weather, loading weight and road conditions all affect range.

For comfort there is an adjustable-width super seat with a breathable cushion and backrest, and both armrests raise, which makes it easier to pull up close to a table. There is an easy-remove front basket, and ComfyGO says the Z-4 can traverse low grass and compacted dirt.

Run the battery flat and you can still move it: with the power off and the motor levers pulled to unlocked, the scooter goes into free wheel mode for pushing. It arrives almost fully assembled. Custom Mobility ships the Z-4 across the lower 48.
