The Census Bureau's American Community Survey (5-year estimates, 2020-2024) gives these figures. Columbus has about 81,415 households. About 17.4% of residents report a disability, and about 36.7% of those 65 and over do. Detached single-family houses account for about 65.7% of housing units. About 14.8% of Columbus residents are 65 or older. Half of the homes in Columbus were built in 1978 or earlier (median year built).
Steps at an entrance can be bridged with a modular ramp or a vertical platform lift; a staircase inside can take a stairlift.

Which Part Of The House Is The Problem In Columbus?
Point at a room.
The front door
Steps up to the door, a threshold that catches a wheel, a door too heavy to hold open.
The stairs
The bedroom and the proper bathroom are upstairs, and the stairs have become a decision several times a day.
The bathroom
Getting in and out of the bath or shower, and standing up again. Most falls at home happen in this room.
Moving around inside
Getting out of a chair without help, and getting from room to room without holding the furniture.
Getting in the car
The chair will not go in the trunk, or getting into the seat has become the hard part of every trip.
