Companion Van Rear Entry

The BraunAbility CompanionVan RE (Rear-Entry) features either the Dodge Caravan or the Chrysler Town & Country chassis. The CompanionVan RE is designed for wheelchair users that require an attendant while traveling. This Rear-Entry conversion is the ideal solution if you are frequently faced with unsatisfactory parking situations. As you can see in the photos, the manual fold-out ramp is located in the rear of the van.

Here are the Standard and Optional features available on the CompanionVan RE. Specifications below are for the CompanionVan RE conversion only and do not reflect any interior trim. Standard Features:


  • Rear-Entry -- greater versatility when parking; easy access with a clearance of 53 3/4"

  • Manual Fold-Out Ramp -- lightweight, quick and very easy to use

  • Lowered Floor -- middle, center lowered all the way back allowing room for two wheelchair users

  • Flip-and-Fold Center Seats -- fold up out of the way when they are not in use

  • Wheelchair / Occupant Securement System
